So I’ve been kind of trip planning lately, and I figured that I should make some kind of list of the places I’ve already been. I’m a little disappointed I’ve only seen 12% of the world. Seeing the rest of the world is going to take me…forever.
Ok, so the NYT has this app where you can attempt to eliminate the budget shortfall. I tried it, and I cut about $119 billion from the 2015 budget, with 96% in spending cuts and 4% in tax increases. I wanted to get to the $418 billion needed to balance the budget, but I couldn’t bring myself to impose a national tax, or impose an estate tax, or tax the “rich” any more.
In fact, one thing I found interesting is that in all the taxes you could increase or impose, there was nothing but increases for the “rich”. There was no option to cut food stamps, or unemployment taxes, or basically any public services.
I love (and always buy) the most random and useless things. For instance, once I had to have a foot long candle in the shape of a dachshund. I had to get a giant hand blown glass chandalier in Greece which I had to tote around Europe. I also possess a gas pump that dispenses alcohol. I didn’t buy that, my college roommate did, but she’s an expert in the nonsense that I buy. Anyway, I love the website http://www.modcloth.com
and have taken the initiative to start making my Christmas list of things that I want from there. Also, yesterday was my half bday. So, either occasion will work.
